Reminder: Code of Behaviour & Safeguarding Expectations
As we approach the final round games and head into the finals of the 2025 Winter Competition, Newcastle Netball Association (NNA) would like to remind all players, coaches, parents, and spectators of their responsibilities under the
Netball NSW Code of Behaviour.
In addition, the
Netball Australia Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy outlines specific requirements regarding behaviour towards or around individuals under 18 years of age.
We also remind all Members of the
Netball NSW Photography Policy, which includes the following consent requirements:
- Photography and video recording of children and young people under 18 is only permitted where appropriate consent has been obtained.
- Consent must be provided by a parent or legal guardian.
- All photography or filming must be respectful, appropriate, and in line with child safety guidelines.
- Individuals must not post images or videos of other people's children online without proper consent.
NNA is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and positive environment for everyone involved in our sport—whether you're playing, coaching, umpiring, or supporting from the sidelines.
We ask all members of our community to:
- Show respect to players, officials, coaches, and fellow spectators
- Support a child-safe culture
- Lead by example in words and actions
- Report any concerns to the appropriate channels
Let’s work together to ensure that netball continues to be a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to upholding these important standards.
Mental Health Awareness Round
NNA is excited to be hosting our 2025 Making Connections Mental Health Awareness Round on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 July. The colour theme for the 2025 Making Connections Mental Health Awareness Round is FLURO and YES, we will be doing our famous Nutbush warm up prior to each game time.
NNA are currently on the look out for volunteers for the hair ribbon and face painting marquees. If you have any players, coaches, managers or parents who would like to assist, at different timeslots (Friday and Saturday), please contact NNA Secretary.
